Child protection programme

The purpose of the programme

The Hungarian Swimming Federation pays special attention to the protection of children (and not only children) in and outside the pools. This programme is in line with today's requirements as the system has been established with the prevention in its focus to ensure the mental and physical integrity and development of young swimmers. At international level, there are countless examples that we consider especially important to adapt to the domestic environment. At the same time we are working constantly with our coaches, staff members and sports professionals to build the proper attitude towards the youngest ones. As one of the first and most important steps of our renewed programme, we have developed codes of conduct for athletes, coaches and parents, which contain the main guidelines. These also determine the values to be followed and which we can monitor with the help of the newly built structure and professional apparatus. In addition, we have developed a signalling system through which any case that contravenes the codes of conduct can be reported directly to a HSF specialist.

Gyermek és Szakember Védelmi Bizottság

At the Hungarian Swimming Federation, the task of the committee in child protection matters is to further consider and elaborate the professional details of the child protection programme, to investigate complaints and problematic cases channelled by the Child Protection Officer, to prepare the decision-making report of the Disciplinary Committee.
